This is a brieftimeline on the Philippine constitution. The 1973 Philippine Constitution was ratified in a referendum held in the Philippines. Delegates were chosen to a constitutional convention in 1970, and it began meeting in 1971. President Ferdinand Marcos imposed martial law in September 1972 and detained 11 members of the convention.
