With so many different designs, shapes, and sizes, some Christmas cards have become collectors items, fetching high prices at auction. In 2001, one of the worlds first cards, commissioned by Cole and produced by J. C. Horsley, was auctioned off for £22,250. Another of Horsleys cards sold for nearly £9000 in 2005, and if you want to see a large collection of these coveted cards, go to the British Museum and look through Queen Marys early 1900s collection.
