About
fill and shadow patterns
Edraw includes five
fill and shadow patterns:
no fill, solid fill (one-color pattern), gradient fill,
pattern fill, texture
fill. And gradient fill includes single-color
gradient; double-colors gradient and custom define
gradient.
Edraw provide 28
gradient styles, 53 patterns, 48
predefined textures and 11 predefined
shadow styles.
Apply
a fill to a shape
-
Select a shape or
multiple shapes.
-
On the
Shape
menu, click
Fill & Shadow, and then click
Pattern on the
Formatting shapes
dialog box. Or you can click
Fill Color
on Format toolbar.
-
Select one of the six
available fill styles: No
Fill,
Solid Fill
(More Lines Color),
Gradient Fill,
Pattern Fill, Texture
Fill and
Picture Fill.

No Fill
The shape can be
see through totally.
-
Solid Fill
Select one color
you want from the 60 predefined colors, or click
More Colors
and in Color
dialog box select the color you want or
mix the color in
Custom
box.

Gradient Fill
In
Gradient table on
the Fill Effect
dialog box, select the option you
want:
Single color
Select one of 60 predefined colors, or click
More Colors
and in Color
dialog box select the color you want or mix the
color in Custom
box. And set the
Lightness slider to the percentage of
lightness you want.
Double color
Select the foreground color and background color
in the color box.
Custom define
Select the one of 60 predefined gradient
styles.
Style
Select one of the 28 gradient patterns.

Pattern Fill
Select one of the
53 patterns. And select the
foreground color and background color you want
in the color box.

Texture Fill
Click the
Texture in
Fill Effect dialog box, if the texture box is not
shown.
Select one of the 48
texture images, or click
Other Images to
load the image you want to fill the line.

Picture Fill
In Open File dialog, select the image you want.

Click OK.
Note In the
Preview
box, you can see how the options you selected
will look.
Apply
a shadow to a shape
-
Select a shape or
multiple shapes.
-
On the
Shape
menu, click
Fill & Shadow.

In
Shadow
table select the options you want:
-
Pattern
Click Pattern to select the fill pattern for
shadow, the operation process is the same with Apply
a shadow to a shape.

Style
Select one of 11 shadow styles.
-
Transparency
Set the
Transparency slider to the percentage of
transparency you want. You can vary the
percentage of transparency from
0 (fully opaque, the default) to 100% (fully
transparent).

X Offset & Y
Offset
X Offset
and Y Offset
is the offset of the shadow to the shape.
You can type the value in the
X Offset
and Y Offset
or click buttons
to adjust the offset size.
Note
Select the shadow style firstly if the
X Offset
and Y
Offset is not available.

Magnification
Magnification
indicate the ratio of the shape size and shadow
size. Set the
Magnification slider to the ratio you
want.

Angle
Only the shadow
style you select is between 7 and 11, the
Angle
is available, you can type the value or drag the
diamond on the circle
to the position you want.

Click OK.
Note In the
Preview
box, you can see how the options you selected
will look.
